Leilanie Marin, mostly known as “LAY”
She’s a multi faceted artist born & raised in North Philadelphia est. March 21st, 1997.
A complex poet/singer/songwriter/fashion designer has a story to tell.
From introspective, thought provoking, spoken word - to her soulful, gospel meeting R&B tone of voice not excluding the witty word play she uses as a way of expression leaves you wanting more.
The one who uses “Shwoop” being a way to greet or depart from someone. Her art is personable to match the soul it comes from. Self publishing her first poetry book on July of 2025. Lay worked day in & day out for a proper roll out.
The poetry book “Pieced from Pieces” showcases pieces of who Lay is & has been. Pierced together into something some may say is a masterpiece. Each poem has an illustration & some illustrations just made sense to be included in a form of merchandise. From stickers, magnets, phone cases, lighters, art print outs & custom clothing. Physical copies of her book are available as well.
